A Baculite is an ancient sea creature Ammonite with a straight shell instead of a spiraled shell. These creatures are found in Late Cretaceous Period marine rock which dates back to around 66-100 million years ago and they are related to the Squid and Octopus. This Baculite fossil shell has a well preserved outer layer of Nacre that has an amazing iridescent rainbow sheen.
